Note: This drabble was supposed to meet both last week's challenges but my Scott!Muse deserted me halfway through. I thought of punishing him but now I'm happier with the outcome and the extra 150 words he gave me. Therefore I'm letting him share the chocolates with Logan. My Word counts 250 words, story deals with lack of sleep, first couple of lines in bold were first spoken by Bo and Cherie, in "Bus Stop", second couple of lines in bold are from X2 so I guess there’s a spoilers warning somewhere in here too.
'No way back.'
Every night since he returned to the mansion he lay awake, waiting for him. For something close to six months, he stared at the ceiling, listening to the sounds of the house for his barefoot steps. But he never came.
When that night he had finally walked in his bedroom, he knew. There would be no more quick groping hidden in dark hallway corners, no more hasty releases in the Danger Room showers, no more fierce, emotionless coupling far in the woods surrounding the estate. Not anymore.
He stood up with his heart in his mouth and stalked to where Scott was leaning over by the door with his hands braced on the wall behind the small of his back, invading his personal space, trying helplessly to catch his eyes behind the ruby quartz. Mesmerised, he tipped forward only to stop a hair's breath from his lips, uncertain of his welcome.
"When you kiss someone for serious, it's kinda scary, aint it?" Scott's husky voice vibrated between them, breaking the spell and then not.
"Yeah, it is." he whispered the words into the mouth before him.
The lips that met his were not hesitant; instead they spoke wordlessly of determination and acceptance. Moment turned forever as the kiss deepened until he pulled back, breath coming out in short, sobbing gasps. A thin line of worry appeared on Scott's forehead and he urged the older man's head to rest on his shoulder.
"Are you ok?"
"I am now."
At last, home.
And now that you've seen what I can do, is there anyone brave enough to beta for me next time? ::bats eyelashes::
Edit: Fixed weird wording in 2 lines, word count stays at 250. Serves me right for posting sleepless at 07:00 a.m. ::sigh::
